There are 3 stages to disposing of an equipment unit. The first is placing the unit on the Pre-selected list for review. If it is determined that the unit should be disposed of, it is placed on the Pending Disposal list, where pricing is determined and needed PMs may be performed. Units that are ready to sell are then added to the Sales list to show they are available for immediate sale. Disposal/sale of a unit is only performed from the Sales list. Note that the first 2 stages can be skipped if required.

The pending disposal list displays the unit's net book value (NBV). If asset depreciation is in use it will calculate the NBV from the assets assigned to the unit.
When the Include Attachments in Net Book Value business parameter is set to Yes, the Net Book Value on the pending disposal list will include the net book value of any attachments. This is true whether asset depreciation is in use or not.

Units that are ready to sell are added to the sales list to show they are available for immediate sale. A unit can be disposed of even if it is on an active reservation, but not if it's on an active contract.
Note that disposal is not allowed if there are unapplied capital adjustments for the asset.
