Insurance Policies

The insurance module consists of two general areas: the insurance policy database and contract insurance requirements (defined under Standard Contracts in the Lease Rental module). Together, these areas provide a means to track customer insurance details and to compare the sufficiency of the customer's insurance for specific contract situations.

The insurance policy database contains the basic policy information for each customer or company policy on file. The accuracy of the policy database determines how effective the contract matching process will be. Routines are available to set up and maintain the policy details, and to monitor their sufficiency in the light of the contract insurance requirements.

The insurance policy database also serves a secondary purpose: to amortize charges for prepaid insurance policies back to a customer.
