Add vendor  

Note that this function must be performed in Enrich Financials if that module is installed.

  1. At the EMMS main menu, select Vendor | Vendors.
    • The Work With Vendors display screen appears.
  2. Click Add .
    • The Edit Vendor Master add key screen appears.
  3. Type in a unique Vendor Code for the new vendor.
  4. Click Enter .
    • The Edit Vendor Master add screen appears.
  5. Fill in the fieldsfields as required.

    A/P Contact is the name of the person in the vendor's accounts payable department who can be contacted if required.

    Address is the street and/or mailing address of the vendor.

    City is the city in which the vendor is located.

    Country is the country in which the vendor is located. You can click on the Prompt button to select the country from a list.

    Fax is the vendor's fax number. There are 22 free-format spaces to add area code, country code, or any other relevant information.

    G.S.T. Default Category identifies the federal tax percentage charged on the vendor's items. It can be overridden at the item level, if necessary. A value is required unless the GST Small Trader Flag is set to Yes, indicating that the vendor is not registered. You can click on the Prompt button to select the GST category from a list.

    G.S.T. Number is the vendor's government-assigned registration number for federal tax. A value is required unless the GST Small Trader Flag is set to Yes, indicating that the vendor is not registered.

    G.S.T. Small Trader Flag identifies whether or not the vendor is a small trader. It defaults to No. Small traders are not registered with the government for federal tax and are not required to collect the tax.

    Held flags whether or not items ordered from this vendor should immediately be placed on hold. Regular and sublet purchase orders cannot be created for vendors whose held status has been set to Yes. However, held vendors can be on the receipt of sublet POs, in case the vendor was held after the PO was created but still must be paid for the particular sublet.

    Miscellaneous flags whether or not the vendor is one-time only. When a miscellaneous vendor is selected for an invoice, the vendor name and address will be requested when saving that invoice.

    Name is the name of the company from which items are purchased. It is required.

    Phone is the vendor's telephone number. There are 22 free-format spaces to add area code, country code, or any other relevant information.

    Phone Extension is the extension number for the vendor contact person.

    Postal Code is the vendor's postal or zip code.

    Province/State is the province or state in which the vendor is located. You can click on the Prompt button to select the province or state from a list.

    Status identifies the condition of the vendor. You can click on the Prompt button to select the status from a list. Valid values are:

    • A - active (default)
    • D - deleted
    • I - inactive
    • O - one-time vendor

    Terms identifies what payment terms the vendor requires, e.g. net 30 days. You can click on the Prompt button to select the terms from a list.

  6. Click Enter to save the vendor.
  7. You can now work with the vendor's purchase information, items, service provider information, electronic information, contacts, tax information, and contracts.
