Setup for meter changes

  1. Make reading for metric type mandatory for meter change on a work order.
    1. At the EMMS main menu, select Maintenance | Tables | Metrics | Metric Groups. The Work With Metric Groups display screen appears.
    2. Right-click on the appropriate metric group (i.e. Meter Changes) and select Change. The Edit Metric Definition change screen appears.
    3. Type Y in the Mandatory field for the appropriate metric type (e.g. DIST). The reading for this metric type will only be mandatory if the operation code for a meter change is entered on a work order.
    4. Click Enter enter.jpg to save.
    5. Click Exit exit.jpg to return to the menu.
  2. Create meter change system code.
    1. At the EMMS main menu, select Maintenance | Tables | VMRS Codes | System/Assembly/Part. The Maintain System Codes change screen appears.
    2. Click Add plus.jpg. The Maintain System Codes add screen appears.
    3. Create a system code for meter change (i.e. ME). The Description should read "Meter change".
    4. Right-click in the Cost Reporting Code field and select Prompt.
    5. Double-click on Cab, Instrumentation to select it.
    6. Click Enter enter.jpg to save.
    7. Click Change change.jpg. The Maintain System Codes change screen appears.
    8. Verify that the Meter Change system code now exists.
    9. Click Exit exit.jpg to return to the menu.
  3. Link meter change to replace task.
    1. At the EMMS main menu, select Maintenance | Tables | VMRS Codes | Activity Codes. The Activity Codes display screen appears.
    2. Type Y at the junction of the Meter Change (ME) row and the Replace column (usually Task Code 03). This ties the Meter Change system code to the Replace task code.
    3. Click Enter enter.jpg to save.
  4. Link meter change component to appropriate metric.
    1. Right-click on the Meter Change (ME) component and select Metric. The Select Task screen appears.
    2. Double-click on the appropriate task (e.g. Exchange, New). The Edit Activity Metrics screen appears.
    3. If necessary, click Show All/Selected allsel.jpg to see all available metrics.
    4. Right-click on the appropriate metric (e.g. Metric Type DIST), and select Select. An asterisk will apear in the left-most column to indicate that the metric has been selected.
    5. Click Exit exit.jpg to return to the menu. Setup is now complete.
  5. You can now create the meter change work order.
