Request reading interface

1. At the EMMS main menu, select Administration | Interfaces | Reading Interface | Request Reading Interface. The Request Reading Interface enter screen appears.
2. Fill in the fields as required.

   Reading Interface IDis the interface to be downloaded. You can click on the Prompt button to select the interface from a list.

   Reading Date To Useis the date to use for the readings being downloaded. It can be left blank to use the dates from the file being loaded.

   Reading Time To Useis the time of day to use for the readings being downloaded. It can be left blank to use the times from the file being loaded.

   Input File Nameis the name of the file to download. It can be left blank to default to the file name associated with the interface in the reading interface definition.

   Input File Libraryis the name of the library where the download file can be found. It can be left blank to default to the library name associated with the interface in the reading interface definition.

3. Click Enter . The Confirm prompt appears.
4. Click Enter . The interface will be submitted to batch.
   • If there is a future-dated billing reading In Progress, the system will check to see if it is being used by billing. This is done by looking for the Distance Sequence in the Contract Billing Extension file. If the reading isn't there, the system will check the forecast file. If the Distance Sequence is in that file with Select/Omit = Omit and Bill Fore Sts = In Progress, the reading from the upload will be added to the distance log file. If either condition isn't met, the reading cannot be uploaded.
5. Once the download is complete, you can work with the batch.
