Unit pool and facility
Assignment of equipment to a pool and facility is identified by an effective
date and time for accurate costing and accounting. Any transaction processed
after the transfer date and time will use the new assignment. Depreciation
calculations are prorated relative to the portion of the period in either
pool. The pool and the facility can be changed on the same screen.
Consider carefully before changing a pool. it has consequences: the
depreciation is affected; the contract types that can be used are affected;
the pool determines whether or not a unit can be included on the list
of units for sale. All accounting could be affected by changing pool and
facility since pool often drives what expense and revenue accounts are
used.
If asset depreciation is in use, when pool and/or facility is changed
for a unit it will also be changed for associated assets and depreciation
schedules.
