Add a unit depreciation schedule

1. At the Asset Management main menu, select Equipment | Unit Depreciation | Schedules. The Depreciation Schedules display screen appears.
2. Click Add . The Add Depreciation Schedule enter screen appears.
3. Fill in the fields as required.

   Unit Numberis the equipment unit that the depreciation schedule is for. You can click on the Prompt button to select the unit from a list.

   Schedule Typeis the type of depreciation schedule that the unit's schedule will be based on. You can click on the Prompt  button to select the schedule type from a list.

   Residual %is the percentage of the capital amount to use as the residual value amount. The system will calculate the initial residual value based on this percentage. This only applies to depreciation schedules using the straight line method. If the residual as % of capital cost business parameter is set to No, this field will be display only.

   Capital Amountis the amount that is being capitalized for the unit (i.e. the initial value of the unit), to 2 decimal places.

   Depreciation Rateis the percent by which the capital amount is to be depreciated at the selected frequency. If the residual as % of capital cost business parameter is set to Yes, this field will be display only.

   Start Dateis the first day the depreciation should be applied. A value is required. However, when the Revenue Start Date functionality is on, the depreciation start date is no longer a required field, and no default is entered. You can click on the calendar button to select the date.

   Durationis the number of months the unit will be depreciated for.

4. Click Enter . The new depreciation schedule will be saved in Entered status.
5. The next step is to create the schedule detail, then confirm schedule creation.
