Create unit depreciation schedule detail

This option allows you to create the depreciation schedule for a non-active unit, building the schedule detail with all transactions in an unposted status.

1. At the Asset Management main menu, select Equipment | Unit Depreciation | Schedules. The Depreciation Schedules display screen appears.
2. Right-click on the unit and select Create. The Create Depreciation Schedule Details enter screen appears.
3. Fill in or change any fields as required.

   Start Dateis the date the depreciation should start on the unit. You can click on the calendar button to select the date. If Revenue Start Date functionality is active, the depreciation Start Date is set to the Revenue Start Date from the equipment dates file or, if that doesn't exist, the Date in Service from the equipment master file. If Revenue Start Date functionality is not active, the depreciation Start Date is set to the Date in Service from the equipment master file.

   Durationis the number of months the unit will be depreciated for.

   Residual %is the percentage of the capital amount to use as the residual value amount. If the residual as % of capital cost business parameter is set to No, this field will be display only.

   Depreciation Amountis the amount to be applied to the capital amount at the selected frequency, to 2 decimal places. Only one of depreciation rate or depreciation amount can be used.

   Residual Valueis the amount to be left un-depreciated at the end of the depreciation schedule.

4. Click Enter .
5. If stepped rates will be used with the schedule:
   1. Click Stepped Rates . The Maintain Stepped Rates add screen appears.
   2. Fill in the fields as required for each rate required.

      Depreciation Periodis the number identifying a period within the depreciation duration for the unit when the rate will change.

      Stepped Rate %is the percent by which the unit's capital amount is to be depreciation during the specified period and future periods until the next rate is encountered. If a value is entered, Enrich will calculate the depreciation amount.

      Depreciation Amountis the amount by which the unit's capital is to be depreciated during the specified period and future periods until the next rate is encountered. If a value is entered, Enrich will calculate the stepped rate %.

   3. Click Enter to save the stepped rates.
   4. Click Exit to return to the Edit Depreciation Schedule change screen.
6. You can now confirm schedule creation.
