Record meter readings with a meter change
When a unit's meter fails, it has to be replaced. When that happens,
the Life-to-Date (LTD) readings cannot change; the LTD must continue to
climb after the physical part has been changed. This is done through the
work order activity. See the Change a Meter item in the How To section
of the EMMS Online Help for more information.
In addition, a specific process must be followed to record billing readings
when a meter change occurs.
- At the Asset Management main menu, select Customer
| Billing | Record Billing Readings. The Record
Billing Readings screen appears.
- Type in the Reading Date.
- Select Actual for
Actual or Estimate.
- Select Yes for Meter
Change.
- If necessary, change the Metric Type and/or Facility.
- Click Enter
. The Record Billing
Readings change screen appears.
- Click Add
.
The Record Billing Readings
add screen appears.
- The end reading from the old meter must be recorded first: enter
the
- Facility
- Unit
- end Reading Date - the date the final reading was taken.
- end Reading - the actual end reading from the meter.
- Meter Change = N.
- Move onto the next line and enter the
- Facility
- Unit
- new meter's start Reading Date - the date the initial reading
was taken on the new meter.
- new meter's start Reading - the actual start reading from the
new meter.
- Meter Change = Y.
- Move onto the next line and enter the
- Facility
- Unit
- current Reading Date - the date the current reading was taken.
It can be the same as the new meter's start reading date.
- current Reading - the actual current reading from the new meter.
It can be the same as the new meter's start reading.
- Meter Change = N.
- Click Enter
to save the readings.
- Click Change
to view the full list of readings.
