Same Asset, Different Type of
Depreciation- set this to Yes. It identifies
whether or not the new depreciation schedule should be for the
same asset as the one being copied. In this process, the basic
information from the schedule header is used as the start point
for the new depreciation schedule. This option will copy one depreciation
schedule's header information to a different schedule type for
the same asset. Once that is done, the process will continue through
to the remaining steps in creating the new depreciation schedule.
The purpose of this option is to provide an easy way of duplicating
the basic information from one schedule to another.
Screen Flow:
- If copying to a template for the
new schedule type, you will go to the Add SL (or DB) Depreciation
Schedule Step 3.
- If copying to a new schedule type
without using a template, you will go to the Add Depreciation
Schedule Step 2, then to the Add SL (or DB) Depreciation Schedule
Step 3.
Note: If you want the equipment/asset
depreciation reference file to reflect all of the depreciation
schedules to which you have "applied" capital adjustments,
you need to always copy from the asset's postable depreciation
schedule.
Templateis
the template that should be used for the new schedule. Leave blank
if using a schedule type. You can click on the Prompt button to select the template from a list.
Schedule Typeis
the schedule type that should be used for the new schedule. Leave
blank if using a template. You can click on the Prompt
button to select the schedule
type from a list.
New Schedule's Capital Amountis the capital amount to
be used for the new depreciation schedule.
If you are copying from a postable
schedule, and you do not change the defaulted capital amount,
the records in the Equipment/Asset Capital Transaction XRef file
that are marked as "Applied for postable" will all be
updated to show "Applied" for the Postable-Other field.
Records will be written into the depreciation reference file for
the new depreciation schedule.
If you are copying from a non-postable
schedule, even if you do not change the default capital amount,
nothing is done with the Equipment/Asset Capital Transaction SRef
file and the Depreciation Reference file.
If you copied from a postable schedule,
and if you used the same capital amount for the copy-to schedule,
you can see a list of the depreciation schedules to which the
capital transactions have been applied at Asset Management
| Equipment | Equipment | Cap Adjustment | Toggle All/Unapplied
to Postable Schedule | Display list of schedules to which adjustment
has been applied.
New Schedule's Initial Residualis the residual amount
to be used for the new depreciation schedule. If the Residual
As % of Capital Cost business parameter is set to Yes, you don't
have to enter anything in this field. The initial residual value
will be set using the Initial Residual % from the template if
you are copying to a template. If you are copying to a different
schedule type, you will have the opportunity to set the Initial
Residual % on the second schedule create screen.
If the Residual As % of Capital Cost
business parameter is set to No, and if you leave this field blank,
you will have opportunities to change the Initial Residual Value
later on in the schedule creation process.
