Traffic areas  

O licences are issued by traffic areas. The UK is divided into the following 8 traffic areas:

Applications for O licences are made to the traffic areas where the vehicles subject to the O licence will be based and operating from. O licenses are issued by the Traffic Commissioner for the traffic area. The Vehicle and Operators Services Agency (VOSA) oversees traffic areas.

  1. At the EMMS main menu, select Equipment | O Licence (UK) | Maintain Traffic Areas.
    • The Maintain Traffic Areas display screen appears.
  2. To work with a traffic area's contacts:
    1. Right-click on the traffic area and select Contacts.
      • The Display Traffic Area/Contacts screen appears.
    2. Click Change .
      • The Edit Traffic Area Contacts change screen appears.
    3. Click Add .
      • The Edit Traffic Area Contacts add screen appears.
    4. Fill in the fieldsfields as required.

      Salu is the contact's salutation. You can right-click in the field and select Prompt to select the salutation from a list.

      M/F identifies the sex of the contact. You can right-click in the field and select Prompt to select the sex from a list.

      First Name is the contact's given name.

      Last Name is the contact's surname.

      Other Names is any other names the contact has, e.g. nicknames.

      Phone is the contact's phone number, including area code.

      Preferred Name is the contact's preferred name.

      Mobile is the contact's mobile number, including area code.

      Fax is the contact's fax number, including area code.

      E-mail is the contact's email address.

    5. Click Enter  to save the contacts.
    6. Click Exit  to return to the Maintain Traffic Areas display screen.
  3. To add traffic areas:
    1. Click Add .
      • The Edit Traffic Area add key screen appears.
    2. Type in the new Traffic Area Code, then click Enter .
      • The Edit Traffic Area add screen appears.
    3. Fill in the fieldsfields as required.

      Status is the current condition of the traffic area. You can click on the Prompt button to select the status from a list.

      Traffic Area Name is the name of the traffic area.

      Address is the address of the traffic area office.

      City is the city the traffic area office is located in.

      Postal/Zip is the postal code for the traffic area office.

      Prov/State Code is the province or state in which the traffic area office is located. You can click on the Prompt button to select the province or state from a list.

    4. Click Enter to save the traffic area.
