Generate bin locations  

Bin locations are defined within warehouses to indicate row/shelf/bin combinations that are valid. They can be added individually or generated in a range. This option allows you to generate sequential stock bin locations for a warehouse.

  1. At the EMMS main menu, select Administration | Tables --> } Administration Tables | Location | Facility | Generate Bin Locations.
    • The Build Range of Stock Locations enter screen appears.
  2. Fill in the fieldsfields as required.

    Warehouse is the warehouse for which the bin locations will be generated. You can click on the Prompt button to select the warehouse from a list.

    Starting Row is the number of the row at which to start generating locations. You can click on the Prompt button to select the row from a list.

    Starting Shelf is the number of the shelf at which to start generating bin locations. You can click on the Prompt button to select the shelf from a list.

    Starting Bin is the number of the bin at which to start generating locations. You can click on the Prompt button to select the bin from a list.

    Number is the number of rows, shelves, and bins to generate.

    Submit to Batch flags whether the job should be run in the background while you perform other functions (i.e. in batch mode), or in the foreground, which means you won't be able to do anything else until the program is complete. Since this program could take some time to complete, it is generally recommended that it be run in batch mode.

  3. Click Enter to submit the batch job to the system to generate the new locations.
    • The Confirm prompt appears.
  4. Click Confirm.
    • You return to the menu.
    • A message stating that the batch job has been submitted will appear at the bottom of the screen.
  5. When the job is completed, you will receive a message notifying you of that fact.
