Parts lookup  

This option provides an easy method of making corrections or additions to the parts lookup upload file without having to go through the whole process of an upload. It should be tightly secured to only a few select users.

  1. At the EMMS main menu, select Material | Item Administration | Work With Parts Lookup.
    • The Work With Parts Lookup change screen appears.
  2. To delete a part from the lookup:
    • Right-click on the line and select Delete.
  3. To add a part to the lookup:
    1. Click Add .
      • The Work With Parts Lookup add screen appears.
    2. Fill in the fieldsfields as required.

      Mfg is the manufacturer of the equipment units that the part applies to. You can right-click in the field and select Prompt to select the manufacturer from a list.

      Model is the model of the equipment units that the part applies to. You can right-click in the field and select Prompt to select the model from a list.

      Preferred Part - if checked, identifies that this is the preferred part for the equipment units.

      Stocked Part is the number of the stocked part being added. You can right-click in the field and select Prompt to select the part from a list.

      Sys/Sub/Comp is the VMRS code of the component that the part applies to. You can right-click in the fields and select Prompt to select the system, sub-system, and component from a list.

      Unit Year is the year of manufacture of the equipment units that the part applies to.

    3. Click Enter .
      • The Maintain Features enter screen appears; see step 4 below.
      • Note: The Maintain Features enter screen will appear for each part you have added.
  4. To work with the equipment features that are required on a vehicle that uses the specified part:
    1. Right-click on the part and select Features.
      • The Maintain Features enter screen appears.
    2. Fill in the fieldsfields as required.

      Feature Code is a feature that must be on the vehicle that uses the specified part. Up to 5 can be defined. You can click on the Prompt buttons to select the features from a list.

      Allowed Value is the allowed value of the feature that must be on the vehicle that uses the specified part. You can click on the Prompt buttons to select the values from a list.

    3. Click Enter to save the features.
