When a unit's meter fails, it has to be replaced. When that happens, the Life-to-Date (LTD) readings cannot change; the LTD must continue to climb after the physical part has been changed. This is done through the work order activity.
In addition, a specific process must be followed to record billing readings when a meter change occurs.
Some setup is required before a meter can be changed. This setup should only be necessary once; however, if you have the applicable access, it doesn't hurt to check that the setup is correct each time before you create the meter change work order.
Note that the procedures documented here can be used for any type of meter.
