User group business parameters  

  1. At the EMMS main menu, select Administration | Security | User Groups.
    • The Edit User Group change screen appears.
  2. Right-click on the group and select User Group Business Parameters.
    • The User Group Business Parameters screen appears.
  3. Fill in the fieldsfields as required.

    Allow IP White List Bypass identifies whether or not the users in the group can bypass the IP white list. It defaults to No. A Yes or No setting at the user level will override the group setting for that user.

    Restrict Visibility of Labor Cost on WOs - if set to Yes, the users in the group will not be able to see total work order cost or labor cost on any panel. If changed, the system will check to see if there are any users in the group who have a different non-blank value. If so, it will display a message stating that you should check the user level business parameters.

    Note: Some assumptions go along with this. One is that the work order cost panel has been secured so the group cannot get to it. Another is that the cost versus mechanic version of the work order print pop-up panel has been secured so the group can't pick the cost version. Another is that the group will have been secured from using the labor panels.

    The following screens will hide cost for users/groups where the business parameter has been set to Yes:

    • All work order displays. This includes the display that allows F9=Change, the display that does not allow change, and the display of a history work order.
    • All view of the equipment repair history panels. If you use the F15=Totals option, the cost and total work order cost rows will be hidden.
    • Also from the equipment repair history, using the subset option will not allow you to use the selection for labor cost or total work order cost.
    • The 4 views of work order approval will hide the cost column.
    • When the work order approval is called directly from the close of a work order, the Approve WO screen will be displayed with the cost columns hidden.
    • The reset option on work with work orders brings up the Reset WO screen, where the cost will be hidden.
    • Cost is hidden on the Unapprove Work Order screen.
  4. Click Enter to save the parameters.
  5. Click Exit twice to return to the menu.
