Place a package on a work order
- At the EMMS main menu, click the Work
Orders button. The Work
Orders display screen appears.
- Right-click on the work order and select Change.
The Edit Work Order
change screen appears.
- Click Select Package.
The Select Package
screen appears, listing packages that are valid to select based on
the work order open date.
- The Select Package
screen allows you to display individual packages in order to see
more information before making a selection.
- The Select Package
screen shows the price that is going to be charged to the customer
for the package as determined by the work order date, unit, customer,
customer class, and shop. In short, it calls the routine to price
the package as per the package pricing structure. This is to help
you in selecting the correct package.
- Right-click on the package to be placed and select Select.
You return to the Edit Work Order
change screen where a work order line for the package will have been
added.
- Parts from the package will be added as open part lines.
- Charges from the package will be added to the work order line.
- Any comments from the package will be added as general work
order comments on the line.
- Once the package has been placed on the work order, you can add
parts, charges, labor, and comments as usual. Everything added to
the package work order line will be considered part of the package
and charged out at the package price.
- If the package has a maximum part cost, that will be validated
against any new parts put onto the line. For example, if the maximum
cost is $100, no parts can be added to the work order that exceed
that cost. The unknown part can be on the work order; it isn't
allowed on the package definition.
- In addition to being able to add more parts and charges, you
can also delete what may have been there.
