Create a work order from a defect

1. At the EMMS main menu, select Maintenance | Defects. The Work With Defects - Open Defects display screen appears.
2. Right-click on the defect and select Change. The Enter Defect Item Information change screen appears.
3. Right-click on the defect line to be placed on the work order and select Add to Work Order. If an open work order exists for the unit, the Select an Open Work Order screen appears.
4. Select a work order to add the defect to or click Exit to create a new work order. The Enter Activities for Defects add screen appears.
5. Fill in the fields as required.

   Componentis the VMRS code identifying the component to be repaired. You can right-click in the field and select Prompt to select the component from a list.

   Priorityidentifies the importance of the work. It can be left blank. You can click on the Prompt button to select the priority from a list.

   Reasonidentifies why the work order is being created. You can click on the Prompt button to select the reason from a list.

   Schedule Dateis the date and time the work is scheduled to be performed.

   Taskidentifies the type of work to be performed on the component. You can right-click in the field and select Prompt to select the task from a list.

6. Click Enter to save the activities.
7. Click Exit . The Place Equipment Out of Service enter screen appears.
8. Click Enter to place the unit out of service or Exit to leave the unit in service for now. You return to the Enter Defect Item Information change screen, where the defect line Status will be W (for Work Order).
