Inventory upload by warehouse
This function allows you to upload inventory from a spreadsheet to Enrich
by warehouse. It can be used on an on-going basis. Note that average cost
can never be updated; it should only be taken from the spreadsheet when
performing an add. In addition, all bins are defined with the maximum
physical size.
It uses the format file FFAECPP. The format file and Excel spreadsheet
can be found on our secure website at https://secure.richer.ca/index.php/support/upload-files.html;
you will have to sign in with your online help desk ID.
- At the EMMS main menu, select Administration
| System | Inventory Upload by Warehouse. The Inventory Upload enter screen
appears.
- Fill in the fields identifying how the upload
should be performed.
- Click Enter
. The upload will be performed.
- Duplicates may be an error based on the business parameter
setting. If the business parameter for Allow Duplicates is Yes
or No, the part number must be unique. If the business parameter
is "Yes, by mfg", the part/manufacturer must be unique.
To take this concept further, the combination of item/manufacturer
can also only exist in the spreadsheet once. Having it in the
upload twice causes problems because the data on one would override
the other. This means you cannot use a single upload to add the
part to 2 different warehouses; however, the spreadsheet could
be copied, the warehouse changed to the next one, and another
upload done.
- If a part already exists and the spreadsheet does not contain
data for a particular field, Enrich
will keep the previous data for that field. This means you can
never use the upload to purposefully blank/zero a field. The end
result is that a part can be added with the bare minimum of part
#/description/expense flag/replenishment method/warehouse. Everything
else will remain blank of default as required. A part can be changed
with only the part/warehouse supplied. When doing a Parts &
Pricing upload, warehouse is not required, but vendor is required.
