Tax on tax table

Many provinces and states apply tax both to the base price of a product and to any other taxes that are already applied to that product. For such states and provinces, you must first determine the order of taxation, enter all the primary taxes, and then apply the tax on tax sequence.

1. At the EMMS main menu, select Administration | Tables --> | Administration Tables | Accounting | Tax | Tax Codes. The Display Tax Code screen appears.
2. Click Tax Rules . The Display Tax Rules screen appears.
3. Click Change . The Edit Tax Rule change screen appears.
4. Right-click on the tax code/province/charge type combination and select Edit Tax on Tax. The Tax Charged on Tax change screen appears.
5. Click Add . The Tax Charged on Tax add screen appears.
6. Type in or select the Tax Codes that are charged on top of the selected tax.
7. Click Enter to save the tax on tax.
8. Click Exit twice to return to the menu.
