Preassign item locations

Items are usually stored in specific locations in the stockroom to allow for quick access. When a new item is set up, a primary stocking location is assigned. If additional locations must be assigned to hold the quantity in stock, this information is recorded as preassigned locations.

1. At the EMMS main menu, click the Inventory Items button. The Inventory for Warehouse display screen appears.
2. Right-click on the item you wish to work with and select Action List. The Item Actions screen appears.
3. Click Preassigned Locations. The Preassigned Locations display screen appears.
4. Click Change . The Preassigned Locations change screen appears.
5. Click Add . The Preassigned Locations add screen appears.
6. Fill in the fields as required.

   Rankingis a sequential number indicating the order in which the stock location should be used to store this item. When only a single location is used to store an item, its ranking should be 1.

   Rowis the row in the warehouse where the item will be stored. You can right-click in the field and select Prompt to select the row from a list.

   Shelfis the shelf in the row where the item will be stored. You can right-click in the field and select Prompt to select the shelf from a list.

   Binis the bin on the shelf where the item will be stored. You can right-click in the field and select Prompt to select the bin from a list.

   Max Quantityis the maximum number of units of the item that can be stored at this location. Leave blank if there is no limit.

7. Click Enter  to save the locations.
8. Click Exit  four times to return to the menu.
