Move an item from one bin to another

This option allows you to move the contents of a bin to another bin in a specific warehouse as long as certain criteria are met. This is used to move the entire quantity in the bin. If you are moving only some of the quantity, you must do an adjustment.

1. At the EMMS main menu, click on the Inventory Items button. The Inventory for Warehouse display screen appears.
2. Right-click on the item to move and select Action List. The Item Actions screen appears.
3. Click on Item Balance Details. The Display Item Balance Details screen appears.
4. Right-click on the warehouse that has the item to move and select Warehouse Details. The Item Balance Details for Warehouse screen appears.
5. Right-click on the bin to move and select Move to Another Bin. The Move From Bin to Bin enter screen appears.
6. Fill in the fields as required.

   Bar Code Labels to Printwill only appear if bar coding is turned on. It is the number of bar code labels to print for the item at the new location.

   Create As Preassigned Binidentifies whether or not the new bin should be added to the preassigned locations for the part. You can always do this except that the blank row/shelf/bin cannot be a preassigned location. The new preassigned bin will be created with a ranking of 1 and the system will add 1 to the ranking of any existing preassigned bins. Because the maximum ranking value is 9, if a bin is already a 9, it will be left that way.

   Delete As Preassigned Binidentifies whether or not to delete the bin being moved from the preassigned bins for the part. You can always do this, but only when the part is preassigned in the first place.

   Delete Bin From Partidentifies whether or not to delete the existing bin from the part. You can only do this when the bin is not a preassigned location for the part. You cannot delete the blank bin.

   Delete Bin From Warehouseidentifies whether or not to delete the bin being moved from the warehouse. The bin can't be a preassigned location for the part. It also can't be left on the part.

   Move To Row/Shelf/Binis the new location for the item. This transfer-to row/shelf/bin cannot be the same as the transfer-from row/shelf/bin. Prompting on the to bin will first let you select from existing bins on the part. Or you can use the option to select from a full list of bins for the warehouse/part. It is okay to move to or from the blank bin. If you are moving to the blank bin location, you will get a pop-up asking you to confirm that is really what you want to do.

7. Click Enter . The contents of the bin will be moved.
