Item component locations

An item can have multiple possible locations on a unit which you might want to track. For instance, you may want to track the time a tire is in the left front position versus the time it is in the right rear position.

1. At the EMMS main menu, click on the Inventory Items button. The Inventory for Warehouse display screen appears.
2. Right-click on the item and select Action List. The Item Actions screen appears.
3. Click Component Locations. The Item Component Locations display screen appears.
4. Click Change . The Item Component Locations change screen appears.
5. Click Add . The Item Component Locations add screen appears.
6. Fill in the fields as required.

   Location Codeis a six-character code that identifies a location on equipment units where the part could be installed; e.g. LF for left front, RRI for right rear inner. The codes should be unique within the part, but the same codes can be used for different parts.

   Location Descriptionis a brief description of the location.

7. Click Enter to save the locations.
8. Click Exit four times to return to the menu.
