Enter a warranty claim collection

1. At the EMMS main menu, select Maintenance | Warranties | Warranty Claims. The Warranty Claims by Claim # display screen appears.
2. Right-click on the claim and select Collection. The Warranty Collection enter screen appears.
3. Fill in the fields as required.

   Adjust Claim Byis the amount that the total claim is being changed, if applicable. This field can be used if an error was made in entering the initial amount; or if you receive more than the original cost claimed; or if you receive less than the original cost claimed, know you won't receive any more, and wish to close the claim. Note that the negative sign goes after the number, e.g. 20-.

   Collection Amountis the amount that has been received for the claim. If you do a part adjustment, you must include the part adjustment amount in the collection amount, then enter the amount in the Adjust Claim By field to balance. The collection amount must equal the amount to be credited to the unit.

   Credit Memo #- if the vendor payment has already been entered in the system, you can click on the Prompt button to select the credit memo on which it was paid.

   Date Collectedis the date the collection was made. It defaults to the current date but can be changed.

   Parts Dispositionidentifies what will be done with any parts that are replaced under the warranty, e.g. hold, return, scrap, etc. It is optional. You can click on the Prompt button to select the disposition from a list.

4. Click Enter to save the collection.
