Add a permit for a unit

1. At the EMMS main menu, select Equipment | Work With Unit Permits. The Work With Permits by Unit display screen appears.
2. Click Add . The Edit Unit Permit change screen appears.
3. Fill in the fields as required.

   Amountis the cost of the permit to 2 decimal places. It can be zero.

   Billback Amountis the amount, to 2 decimal places, that will be billed back to the customer, if applicable.

   Customeris the customer who owns/leases the unit for which the permit is being added. It is required if a billback amount is entered. You can click on the Prompt button to select the customer from a list.

   Descriptionis a brief description of the permit.

   Effective Dateis the date the permit goes into effect.

   Expiry Dateis the date the permit will expire.

   Facilityis the domicile facility for the unit. You can click on the Prompt button to select the facility from a list.

   HVUT Categoryidentifies the heavy vehicle use tax category to which the permit belongs,if applicable. This is for licenses only. When an HVUT category is applicable, the license weights also need to be entered. You can click on the Prompt button to select the category from a list.

   IRP Fleetis the International Registration Plan (IRP) fleet to use for the unit. It is only allowed if the plate type is P - prorated. It is mandatory if the plate type is P and the business parameter IRP Fleet Required For Prorated Plates is Yes. You can click on the Prompt button to select the fleet from a list.

   Owneridentifies whether the permit belongs to the company or the customer. This is for licenses only.

   Permit Numberis the number printed on the permit that was issued by the state or provincial government.

   Permit Typeis the specific type of permit or license being added. You can click on the Prompt button to select the permit type from a list.

   Prov/State Codeidentifies the province or state issuing the permit. You can click on the Prompt button to select the province or state from a list.

   Rate Categoryis the type of rate to use for the permit, which determines the cost of the permit. It is optional. You can click on the Prompt button to select the rate category from a list.

   Reportableidentifies whether or not the permit is reportable in the fuel tax system. This is for licenses only. You can click on the Prompt button to select the flag from a list. Valid values are:
        - Yes
        - No
        - No - Weight/Distance Calculation, which identifies that the unit is non-reportable but that weight/distance tax will be calculated.

   Typeidentifies whether the permit is full-plated or prorated. This is for licenses only.

   Unit Numberis the specific unit for which the permit is being added. You can click on the Prompt button to select the equipment unit from a list.

4. Click Enter to save the permit.
5. If required, enter weights for the permit.
6. The permit will have to be processed.
