Parts interface batches

1. At the EMMS main menu, select Administration | Interfaces | Parts Interface | Parts Interface Batches. The Parts Interface Batches screen appears.
2. To supersede a batch:
   • Right-click on the batch and select Supersede.
3. To display a batch:
   • Right-click on the batch and select Display. The Parts Interface Batch Detail screen appears.
4. To activate a batch so the prices can be used:
   • Right-click on the new or superceded batch and select Activate. The status changes to Active.
5. To create a new batch once the batch control file has been defined:
   1. Click Create New Batch . The Create Parts Interface Batch screen appears.
   2. Fill in the fields as required.

      Source IDis the name of the parts source file. You can click on the Prompt button to select the source from a list.

      Effective Dateis the date the prices in the source file become effective.

      Use Formatted Fileidentifies whether you will use a formatted file (FEO8REP.fdf and its spreadsheet) or the original flat file.

   3. Click Enter . The batch is created and you return to the Parts Interface Batches screen.
6. To work with a batch's details:
   1. Right-click on the batch and select Batch Details. The Edit Parts Interface Batch Details screen appears.
   2. Make any changes required.
   3. Click Enter to save the changes.
   4. To delete a detail record, right-click on the record and select Delete. The record will be removed from the batch.
   5. To modify a detail record:
      1. Right-click on the part number and select Edit. The Edit Batch Detail Record screen appears.
      2. Change any field values as required.

         Error Statusis used to look through records that failed, to determine whether they should be corrected to be included in the interface. You can click on the Prompt button to select the status from a list. Possible values are:
              0 - okay. The record can be used by the automated pricing routines.
              1 - record has non-numeric values in numeric fields. This means there was probably garbage data in the record. You may want to check to see if you can fix the record if you need it for automated pricing.
              3 - duplicate part number. If you put the part number in the positioner at the top of the Edit Parts Interface Batch Details screen and blank out the error status selector, you will see the duplicate part number immediately above or below the one you were working with. You may want to look at the details on duplicated records and their originals to determine if the correct record is in use. If you need to change the record status to activate the record that is currently marked as a duplicate, you must first change the one in 0 (zero) status to 3 (duplicate) status, press Enter, and then change the second record from 3 to 0 status.
              4 - no parts master reference. The part does not currently exist in the parts master. If you want to use this part for automatic pricing, you will have to add it to the parts master, and then change this part interface record to status 0 (zero) so that it can be chosen by the automatic pricing routines.

         Part Descriptionis a brief description of the part.

         Secondary Descripcan be used to expand on the part description.

         Price Column 1-5shows the pricing in each column.

         Cost Column 1shows the cost of the part.

         Parts Master Numberis the code identifying the part to Enrich.

      3. Click Enter to save the changes.
