Equipment attachments
A major component, defined with a unit number, can be attached to a
parent unit. The attachment is identified by an effective date, allowing
the attachment history to be retained. When the attachment is made, you
may specify how the combination is to be viewed from a revenue and expense
perspective. The choices are to track the detail separately for each attached
unit or to track the detail as a combination. A combination may be unattached.
This results in detail tracking for each unit separately after the detachment
effective date.
- At the Asset Management main menu, select Equipment
| Equipment. The Display
Equipment screen appears.
- Right-click on the unit and select Attach.
The Display Unit Attachments
screen appears.
- To view all attachments rather than just current attachments, click
the toggle Show All Attachments
.
- To remove an attachment from the unit:
- Right-click on the attachment and select Detach.
The Detach Unit
screen appears.
- Type in the Removal Date- the
date the attachment was removed. It defaults to the current date
but can be changed.
- Click Enter
. You return to the Show
All Attachments screen; the attachment will be separated
and the units will be tracked individually.
- To add an attachment to the unit:
- Click Add
. The Attach
Unit screen appears.
- Fill in the fields as required.
- Click Enter
. You return to the Display
Unit Attachments screen, where the new attachment will
be displayed.
