Customer rental rate options

1. At the Asset Management main menu, click on the Customer button. The Work With Customers display screen appears.
2. Right-click on the customer and select Edit Customer. The Edit Customer change screen appears.
3. Click Rental Rate Options . The Customer Rental Rate Options change screen appears.
4. Make any changes required.
5. Click Enter to save the changes.
6. To add to the options, click Add . The Customer Rental Rate Options add screen appears.
7. Fill in the fields as required.

   Key Accountindicates whether the customer is a Key Account customer. Customers that are not key customers will be considered Account customers. Non-account customers will be those using the miscellaneous (cash) accounts, and will show the contact details instead of the customer name.

   Book of Business Codeidentifies the local sales manager for the customer. You can click on the Prompt button to select the book of business code from a list.

   Rate Freeze Date Fromindicates that the customer's rates are "frozen" as of this date. Rates with an effective date later than this date will not be selected for the customer's contracts unless the contract out date is later than the rate freeze date to. It is optional. You can click on the calendar button to select the date.

   Rate Freeze Date Toindicates that the customer's rates are "frozen" until this date. If the rate freeze from date is populated, this date must also be populated with a date later than the rate freeze from date. When a contract is created for this customer, if the contract out date is between the two freeze dates, the rates in effect as of the rate until date will be used on the contract. If the contract out date is later than the rate freeze until date, the rates in effect as of the out date will be used on the contract. You can click on the calendar button to select this date.

   Effective Dateis the date the premium rate percentage goes into effect.

   Override Rateindicates whether the customer's premium rate data overrides the scope's premium rate data. You can right-click in the field and select Prompt to select the flag from a list.

   Premium Charge %is the percentage of the daily rate to be added to the daily rate, giving a premium rate to be charged. If there is a premium charge % on the scope, this will override it. Premium rates will only be applied to Fixed Time rates and the DAY rate. Note: Fixed Time rates are identified by a section type = 20. Day rates are identified by a Rate Base Type = 10.
        The determination of whether or not a premium rate applies is made at the contract type/scope level. However, the actual calculation of the premium rate and possible rate rounding is applied at the individual rate level. Some routines sum up the daily rates for a contract and use that value in calculations. The premium rate is applied to the individual rates rather than the sum so that the correct rounding is applied and is consistent with the screen that shows it calculated at the line level.
        The premium rate % and days duration on the contract scope will be used when calculating the estimated rate and best rate. This best rate will have any premium amount applied. This means that when rental termination occurs the best rate displayed does not need any adjustment.
        Credit checking for rentals and reservations will apply the premium rate to the amount being checked.

   Premium Charge Durationis the maximum number of days duration on a contract when the premium rate applies. For example, if the field value is 3, a contract with a duration of 3 days or less (based on Charge From and Charge To Dates and Times) will have the premium rate applied. If there is a premium charge contract duration on the scope, this will override it.

8. Click Enter  to save the new options.
