Change header information for an Entered depreciation schedule

1. At the Asset Management main menu, select Assets / Asset Level Depreciation | Depreciation Schedules. The Depreciation Schedules by Asset Number display screen appears.
2. Right-click on the schedule and select Change Header. The Edit Depreciation Schedule change screen appears.
3. Change any field values as required.

   Capital Amountis the capital amount to be depreciated. It can be changed from the original amount.

   Initial Residual %is the percent of the capital amount that will remain as residual at the end of the schedule. Either this field or Initial Residual Value will be input-capable, depending on the Residual as % of Capital Cost business parameter setting. The system will calculate the initial residual value if you change the residual %.

   Initial Residual Valueis the value that will remain as residual at the end of the schedule.    Start Dateis the date the depreciation schedule will start. It defaults to the current assigned unit's revenue start date. If the assigned unit doesn't have a revenue start date, or there is no assigned unit, an information message will appear. If the schedule is postable, the start date should match the assigned unit's revenue start date. If the schedule is non-postable, the start date does not have to be the same as the assigned unit's revenue start date.

   Durationis the number of months or years the depreciation schedule is for. The system will calculate the end date if you change the duration.

   Depreciation Rateis required for the declining balance depreciation method. Optional if straight line with no stepped or annual rates; the rate will be calculated if you leave the field blank. Optional if straight line with either stepped or annual rates; the field should be left blank. Text will be displayed to the right of the rate to show when stepped or annual rates exist.

   Bonus Depreciation %is an information-only field.

   Recovery Periodis used to reconcile the number of entries. It is optional for declining balance; optional for straight line monthly, with or without stepped rates; required for straight line annual with annual rates.

4. Click Enter to save the changes.
5. Click Continue . The system will clean up any stepped or annual rates that do not apply if you changed the schedule type to a different frequency. The Add Depreciation Schedule Step 3 enter screen appears.
6. To delete the schedule header:
   • Click Delete . The header and any annual or stepped rates that have been defined will be deleted.
7. To work with annual rates, if the schedule is annual:
   1. Click Annual Rates . The Maintain Annual Rates screen appears.
   2. Fill in the fields as required.

      Recovery Yearis the number of the recovery year for which the rate will apply. The full set of entries should consist of consecutive years from 1 to Recover Period + 1.

      Annual Rateis the depreciation rate for the specified year. The annual rate on the full set of entries should add up to 100.00.

   3. Click Enter . The rates will be saved, and you will return to the Add Depreciation Schedule Step 2 enter screen to continue.
8. To work with stepped rates, if the schedule is monthly:
   1. Click Stepped Rates . The Maintain Depreciation Schedule Stepped Rates screen appears.
   2. Fill in the fields as required.

      Depreciation Periodis a number identifying the month when the stepped rate should start being applied. It cannot be greater than the schedule duration.

      Stepped Rate %is the percent to be depreciated starting in the specified month.

   3. Click Enter . The rates will be saved, and you will return to the Add Depreciation Schedule Step 2 enter screen to continue.
9. To select or deselect capital transactions for the secondary asset:
   1. Click Select Capital Amount . The Select Capital Transactions for Schedule screen appears.
   2. To select a capital transaction, right-click on the transaction and select Select. An asterisk appears in front of the transaction.
   3. To deselect a capital transaction, right-click on the transaction and select Deselect. The asterisk is removed from the transaction.
   4. To view the schedules a transaction has been applied to, right-click on the transaction and select Applied to Depreciation Schedules. The Applied Schedule List display screen appears.
   5. To confirm that your selections are complete, click Selection Completed . You return to the Edit Depreciation Schedule change screen.
