Add an asset

1. At the Asset Management main menu, select Assets / Asset Level Depreciation | Work With Assets. The Display Assets - All Assets screen appears.
2. Click Add . The Add Asset screen appears.
3. Type in a unique Asset Number, then click Enter . The Change Asset's Unit Assignment enter screen appears.
4. Select the unit the asset will be assigned to.
5. Enter the Assignment Date- the effective date of the unit assignment. Future assignments are not allowed for new assets. If you enter a future assignment date, the Confirm Future Date Change screen appears. Click Continue. You will return to the Change Assets Unit Assignment enter screen to enter a valid date.
6. Click Change Unit Assignment . The Edit Asset Detail change screen appears.
7. Fill in the fields as required.

   Descriptionis a short description of the asset. It is required.

   Statusis the current status of the asset, active or sold. It defaults to Active. You can click on the Prompt button to select the status from a list.

   Primary Assetflags whether this is a primary or secondary asset. You can click on the Prompt button to select the flag from a list.

   Disposal Dateis the asset's disposal date, if applicable. You can click on the calendar button to select the date.

   Serial Numberis the asset's serial number, if applicable.

   Classis the asset's class. You can click on the Prompt button to select the class from a list.

   Sub-classis the asset's sub-class. You can click on the Prompt button to select the sub-class from a list.

   Yearis the year the asset was manufactured. A value is required.

   Mfg Codeis the manufacturer of the asset. You can click on the Prompt button to select the manufacturer from a list.

   Model Codeis the model of the asset. You can click on the Prompt button to select the model from a list.

   Purchasedflags whether the asset was purchased new or used. It defaults to new. You can click on the Prompt button to select the flag from a list.

   Dateis the date the asset was purchased. You can click on the calendar button to select the date.

   Priceis the price that was paid for the asset.

   Estimated Lifeis the number of months the asset is expected to be in service.

   Date in Serviceis the date the asset was placed into service. You can click on the calendar button to select the date.

   Revenue Start Date- if Revenue Start Date functionality is active, you will see a message to this effect, plus the asset's revenue start date. This information will be hidden if Revenue Start Date functionality is not active.

8. Click Enter . The Confirm prompt appears.
9. Click Confirm. The new asset is saved.

On to Asset Depreciation or back to Assets
