Milestone control table

Milestones are specific points to be met during the equipment ordering process. The milestone control files allows one or more milestones to be set by pool to define the points to be tracked. A milestone may be based on the date the equipment is expected, the date it is received, the date the PDI is completed, or some other notable event. The duration of the task resulting in the milestone may be specified. A late milestone report is available for monitoring performance.

1. At the Asset Management main menu, select Administration | Tables | Acquisition | Milestone Control. The Display Milestones screen appears.
2. Click Change . The Edit Milestone change screen appears.
3. Click Add . The Edit Milestone add screen appears.
4. Fill in the fields as required.

   Milestoneis a code identifying a particular equipment acquisition milestone.

   Descriptionis a short description of the milestone.

   Milestone Pointidentifies which point in the acquisition process the milestone applies to: milestone, estimated delivery date, PDI schedule date, or PDI completion date. You can right-click in the field and select Prompt to select the milestone point from a list.

   Days From Msis the number of days from the milestone point that the milestone should occur. This is required if the milestone point is relative to a date.

   Predecessoridentifies a milestone that must always happen before this one. It is required if the Milestone Point is Milestone. You can right-click in the field and select Prompt to select the predecessor from a list.

   Required Actionidentifies what type of action must occur with the milestone: check or completion date. You can right-click in the field and select Prompt to select the action from a list.

5. Click Enter to save the milestones.
6. If a milestone will be limited to specific pools:
   1. Click Change . The Edit Milestone change screen appears.
   2. Right-click on the milestone and select Change Pools. The Edit Milestone Pool change screen appears.
   3. Click Add . The Edit Milestone Pool add screen appears.
   4. Select the Pools that will be affected by the milestone.

      Pools: are specific equipment pools that the milestone will be limited to. You can right-click in the field and select Prompt to select the pools from a list.

   5. Click Enter to save the pools.
   6. Click Exit to return to the Edit Milestone change screen.
